Don't Worry Darling

To start for this review I will be ignoring all the controversy around this movie as I feel like that is driving the conversation online which I don’t like.

Don’t worry darling tells the story of a woman Alice living a seemingly perfect life in an idyllic 1950s town where all the women are housewife’s while all the men go to work on a mysterious but slowly starts to realize that something is off.

First off the set design of this movie was stunning, the town the story is set in was perfectly crafted and the way everything about how this movie looks from the peaceful town to some of the trippy sequences really enhances the story in a perfect manner.

Florence Pugh is an incredible actress and she really shines in this role, the way she deals with all the creepy things happening around her really makes you feel it, all the other actors give great performances. KiKI Layne as the mysterious woman. Chris Pine as the project leader, Nick Kroll as a weird neighbor and Harry Styles as the husband and everyone else made this movie a lot of fun.

Okay now let’s get into spoiler territory so read it your own risk.

The tension of our main character slowly figuring out what’s going on and standing up to those who trapped her and the action sequences at the end were really great.

I really enjoyed the twist where she is trapped in a virtual world and the cult like leader leading it all, while there is a lot of questions about how everything works especially with hs character as the husband and how he pulled off what he did being as he was shown to not have a job so how could he maintain the program, Otherwise I liked how the movie ended with ambiguous ending with what happened to the other women.

Overall I rather enjoyed the movie and while I won’t say it’s one that needs to be seen in theaters I’d say to check it out if you have time.
